The average longevity in this pedigree is outstanding with most of the ancestors in the first 5 generations living to 12 - 16 years of age. Jen's dam is still alive at 13 also.

About Jenny....
Jenny arrived home to Cathie & Lance to be their best friend, companion and hunt test dog. At 5 she has matured into a very balanced, loving, outgoing, friendly and reliable retriever that never has a bad day. She loves to cuddle on Lance's slippers and is a an absolute sweetheart to spend time with, affectionate yet never demanding. Her temperament is truly outstanding, unflappable and friendly with all other dogs & puppies and numerous other animals. (She even helped raise an orphaned lamb this spring on their acreage.) Jenny has moderate energy in her life skills yet turns on the burners for any retrieve, she has a wonderful off swith in the house, settles easily in any situation and is a wonderful traveler. Her first litter sired by "Phoenix" (Amigold Frequent Flier SH WCX **) are all very healthy, promising and good looking young Goldens that are easy to live with and very willing to work in the different venues the owners have chosen. Four of the five pups have had their clearances done and all cleared hips, elbows, heart & eyes. (visit the Creek Litter webpage)
Jenny loves her birds and easily obtained her Can JH, WCI and GRCA WCX titles. She is currently training towards her Master Hunter (MH) titles and passed 3 Senior (SH) tests in the fall of 09 after taking the last summer off while raising her litter. Due to family health reasons Cathie has not been able to travel this year to the hunt tests but will finish Jen's SH next spring after her litter and then onto Master. In field training she is a good marking dog, establishing solid hunts and she has a very fast pick up. She has a flying water entry and is an excellent swimmer showing good courage and focus on longer water retrieves.
Jen has a wonderful Golden expression, pleasing head, dark eye and correct scissors bite, no missing teeth and decent pigment, (fading in winter months). She stands 21 1/2 tall and weighs 64lb, is in good working condition, carries a drip dry wavy coat with good undercoat and decent length of feathering for a hunting retriever. She has great muscle tone, good bone, is very balanced front and rear, good movement and excellent tail set & carraige. Her pedigree combines exceptional field, obedience and performance pedigrees. Her sire Rooster captured my heart with his structure, type and athleticism and lived close to 16 years. He is a Oustanding sire, Master Hunter (over 50 passes lifetime) Utility dog and All Age Qualified. Like her dam Wings (daughter of the famous Obedience Champion "Sixpack"), Jenny brings joy and laughter to her home, is a very healthy and happy Golden Retriever and is passing all these qualities onto her puppies.

About Riley....
A dog of a lifetime that lived 15 years with a performance record that matched his temperament and marking abiltiy which was OUTSTANDING!!
His performance career, one to be admired by many!
He ran 9 derbies and accumulated 14 points, 1-1st, 2-2nd's, 1-3rd, 1-4th, 1-RJam, 2-Jams (in the ribbons in 8 out of 9 derbies!!)
Her ran 4 Qualifying stakes and received 1-RJam and 3-Jams, again always in the ribbons.
He ran only 15 ALL AGE stakes lifetime and accumulated 13 points with an All Breed Amateur 1st, an All Breed Open 2nd, 1 Amatuer Jam and he WON the Open at the GRCA 1995 National Specialty.
He ran the 1994 National Amateur and went 5 series.
He earned his AKC Master Hunter Title in 6 passes out of 6 attempts.
To some up his performance career, the two words that invariably come to mind are courage and consistency. He ran owner handled against some of the top Field Trial dogs in the country and left big paw prints to fill.
As to Riley's temperament and personality and health...
Healthy - Oustide of the sudden FCI onset he was in excellent health with no skin issues, hot spots or allergies.
Kind - There isn't a mean bone in his body or an aggressive thought in his head.
Amenable - He is the most willing dog I have ever known. He really wants to do the right thing no matter what the circumstances.
Confident - He is completely secure about himself, which allows him to live with a great sense of place. He's a happy dog with a very positive outlook.
Loyal - One of my very greatest blessings is that despite his confidence in himself, he thinks that the sun really does rise and set on his owner.
Affectionate - He loves to be loved and to give back in return.
Mannerly - He is the perfect housedog- never would get up on any furntiture, never would help himself to anything on the kitchen counter. He's calm and quiet in the house and welcomes visitors with great enthusiasm but keeps all four on the floor.
Tractable- He learns quickly, his focus is good, his retention is good and he wants to learn. He loves training and drills.
Dynamic - As a retriever and an outdoor dog his enthusiasm is boundless and he would go until he drops if you asked him to. Stylish, quick pick-up, fast return and an immediate turn to the next bird.
And finally he loves every member of our family, adult or child, and has a solid happy relationship with each of our other dogs (male or female) even when the girls are in season.
He was truly a remarkable animal, dearly missed. Over and over I hear about the marvelous temperaments in his pups.
