Soleil is an enthusiastic, confident yet gentle and loyal Golden. She is an extremely quick learner and excels at new challenges. She is biddable and fortunately comes with an on off switch which makes adapting to all situations possible and her loving nature is a dream to work with.
Soleil is 22.5'" and weighs 61lbs, with a slightly wavy, quick drying coat. Soleil is a true water dog and happiest when swimming. If there is a body of water, even a puddle she will be in it! Her preferred method of entry is a great big leap! Soleil is a strong and confident swimmer and loves to be working. She entered her first obedience trial for Pre-Novice at 6 months old and her confidence was evident at her young age. She completed her PCD title at under a year old and has excelled in her obedience training finishing her Rally Excellent title, going three for three at all levels. She is currently trialing for her Open title. We also had our debut in AKC at the Western Regional Golden Retriever Speciality where she earned her GRCA Triathlon Award.
Field training is a new sport for me, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to learn with. Out in the field she is very intense, focused and determined. She has an extremely high prey drive and lives to retrieve. She always seems to have something in her mouth, even if we aren’t out in the field! She is currently training for her Senior Hunter. Soleil is very athletic and bouncy therefore also enjoys agility. Although we had only done a few classes, we auditioned and were selected to apprentice in the PNE SuperDogs Show. She loves to be the center of attention so the crowds of 5,000 people with light shows and music didn’t phase her at all, and she had a star performance! Her love for kids was commented on by the many families who stopped to see her at the Pat and Chat at the end of each show. She loved showing off her repertoire of tricks. Our latest sport to try has been tracking. As per usual, Soleil caught on fast and loves getting her harness on to sniff out the track.
Soleil makes a great house dog and is happy to curl up on the couch with you or the cat. While she has a very high prey drive, she has no issue getting along with other pets. She runs with other dogs when out training with no problems as well. She is a fun-loving dog that fits right into any situation. The neighbourhood kids are often running her through her tricks and she is always happy to play with them. You’ll always get a song and dance for a greeting and watch out for your shoes if there is no toy at the door for her to grab! One of her endearing qualities she inherited from her parents.
Soleil will be bred to Copper in the Spring of 2020.
