We are very excited to have the opportunity to breed Kikki to Edge:
Our goal for this breeding is to produce intelligent, strong hunting companions that are athletic, biddable, can be easily trained in any venue, and become a member of the family. The pedigree is a wonderful blend of top field competitors, conformation, obedience and agility dogs. Some of the influential dogs in the pedigree include Edge's sire - Canada's only Triple Champion "Push" (visit Push's website page) plus Kikki's sire -Riley was a very strong field compeitor in the 1990's accumulating 13 ALL age points in 15 trials, winning the 1995 GRCA Open and an ALL Breed Amateur 1st place. Her grandsire Rooster was a *** Golden with over 50 Master Hunt passes lifetime.
For information on Kikki: please visit "Kikki's Page" on this website. Many of Kikki's siblings & 1/2 siblings are excelling in field events and hunting plus they all passed OFA hips & elbows (all that have had heart & eye screenings have also passed).
Information on Edge from his owner Kathy Miner: Edge is a handsome well-balanced, athletic, working Golden Retriever, measuring 24” at the withers and weighing 72 pounds. He easily obtained his Canadian Championship at a young age with his first big win under a well-respected breeder judge. He has a confident presence in the conformation ring with clean movement and a playful showy attitude.
Edge has a lovely head with soft expression, medium brown eyes, good ear set, dark pigment, scissors bite and no missing teeth. He has good length of neck, strong front and rock solid topline. He is very balanced front to rear with good angles, correct tail set and carriage. Structurally sound, agile in agility and in the field, Edge is a true example of a good-looking working Golden Retriever!
Edge easily earned his GRCA WC title at 9 months of age then went on to earn his AKC JH (Junior Hunt Title), CKC JH (Junior Hunt Title), AKC SH (Senior Hunt Title), CKC MH (Master Hunt Title) and 4 HRC Seasoned legs in straight passes. In 2013 Edge passed 5 HRC Finished legs obtaining his HRCH title, with Master passes also in AKC.
In 2010 Edge completed the requirements for the GRCA Triathlon award at the National, placing in conformation, agility, rally and field. Please view his website page at www.1drdogs.com to learn more about Edge and his accomplishments.
Edge is not only is excelling in performance but is an awesome upland and waterfowl hunting companion. He hits the water hard, tackles heavy cover, handles runners with ease and has the stamina to hunt all day. Each year we have been invited to be a handler and dog team in Alberta Calcutta competitions. Proving to those seasoned hunters that good-looking Goldens can hunt as hard as labs.
Edge is one of the most versatile Golden Retrievers that I have had the pleasure to own and train. He is fun, focused, biddable and a pleasure to watch in any venue yet a mush ball in the house and his spirit and temperament are truly golden.
At a young age we qualified for the Golden Retriever of Canada Versatility Hall of Fame and the journey continues….
