We are very excited to have the opportunity to breed Canoe to Toque! Our goals for this breeding are to produce intelligent, strong, biddable, companions that can be trained in any venue from hunting, show, agility but most of all become an awesome family member.
About Canoe from her owner Wanda Kuzenko ...
Canoe is an energetic, confident, loving and gentle Golden Retriever who true to her breed, lives to hunt and retrieve. She works hard at any challenge before her, giving it her all. Luckily she comes with an on off switch and settles well in the house or crate. She is also good at entertaining herself with toys and hanging out in the back yard. Canoe also loves intensely and is the worlds best cuddler. She adores people, young and old and will probably do some therapy work in the future. She gets along well with her 13year old brother and all other dogs. She has had the privilege of being at the farm during puppy rasing time and is a natural at being Auntie Canoe to pups with a lovely instinctive gentle nature, great training for her own pups. Canoe loves to romp and play, given the opportunity to interact/play with all her doggie friends
Canoe is 21” and weighs 60 lbs, with a lovely soft, quick drying coat. Canoe's favorite place to be is in the water in all seasons, rain or shine. She is a strong swimmer and often will just go for a swim about. We have tried dock diving, and to no ones surprise she was awesome at leaping and qualifying for the finals. I am sure dock diving is in this girls future.
Field training is a new venture for me and Canoe has been the perfect companion to teach and travel this road with me and Toque. In the field Canoe is intensely focused with a strong prey drive and great water courage. Her marking ability is awesome and she has a lovely soft mouth. Canoe has achieved her JH and WC in 2018 and we are currently training for our SH and WCI. Canoe has had some agility foundation training and will likely compete in CKC/AAC trials as this seems to be something else she loves and will excel in.
Canoe has been one of the best things to happen to me. She is full of an immense joy for life, always seems to have something in her mouth to greet me or who ever comes her way. When I come in from shopping she need to help unload the groceries and carries what ever she can get in her mouth.
About Toque from his owner Wanda Kuzenko....
Toque is a handsome, balanced athletic Golden Retriever, weighing in at 75 pounds and measures 24 inches at the withers. He obtained his Canadian Championship at a young age with a Group 3 placing. Toque has a confidence in his gate and lovely movement in and out of the ring. He has a well balanced structure, dark pigment, dark eyes and beautiful ear and tail set. When he moves he has great reach, drive, strong topline and good foot timing. He is a very athletic boy that is a joy to watch. Even at 13years young he may be slower but he has not lost his swagger.
After his championship Toque and I ventured into the agility world and he fell in love. We trialed in many AAC competitions and he made it to a Master level in some events. To this day he still loves to hang out and run the equipment we have in the back yard.
While training Canoe in the field I thought I would see if Toque would pick up a bird at 11 years of age for the first time. Well he found his new calling and took to retrieving land and water marks like a seasoned pro. He is beside himself when he gets to run marks and was successful in 2018 to have achieved his WC and JH at 12 1/2 years young.
